Thank You, Michele!

(I can't be left out of blogging about the wonderful mothers in my life.)
My beautiful mother-in-law. I consider her one of my best friends. Even if we haven't talked in weeks (sorry), and all I want to do is complain about my husband (her son), she is there for me, to comiserate with and rejoice with.

I wish we lived closer to each other. (she's in Florida) Although, I think we would exhaust her. She gets her once a year visit in, and she's pooped.

I'd like to tell you a little bit about her and why I admire her so....

Michele is the oldest of 8 siblings. (she had a sister who died of sids)

She watched as her father died at a very young age. She was the oldest and took care of her sisters and brother while her mom went to work. (another woman whom I admire so very much)

She gave birth to my husband when she was just 17 yrs old. I'm glad she cussed out the nun nurses who wanted her to give him up.
She raised her son with strength and perseverance. I don't know if I could make it through what she did.

Times were not easy, by herself, far from family, but she did it. I know my husband is the man today because of the example she set for him. She sacrificed so much for him.
I don't think it was very easy for her to let her son go.  It took some time for us to work through the wrinkles of our relationship. I'm so glad we did!

She is my hero for who she is and what she has done.

We were in the hospital together (in different states). I was getting a new baby and she was getting new hips!

She loves my children fiercely. I know she would do anything for them. They love her and miss her so very much. They love her RIBS!
They are lucky that they don't have to share her with any other grandkids. They are it!

I wish she would take time out for herself and not work so hard, these days. She is so very creative, too. I hope to be able to retire her close to us. I wish we could afford to visit her. Soon, very soon.

Thank you Michele for being who you are and making the choice to raise your son to be the man that he is. I will always be in debt with gratitude to you for him. I love you.

This was a great post! Happy Mother's Day to you!

I am still trying to "smooth out the wrinkles" as you put it with my M-in-Law...but I think our wrinkles are very deep and very stubborn. It may take a while!
